In short: Hooks have been introduced of late in React and there is a new way to assign the many React features by way of simple functions. Soon a live-coding sessions emerged where one could only distinguish the sound of some diligent keyboard action. Sebastian (fullstack developer and designer at Spatie) clearly knew how to entertain his target audience.
After tackling the front- they moved to back-end, with Freek Van der Herten (developer and partner at Spatie) who elaborated on event sourcing. Instead of directly making changes in a database, you call upon an event in your codebase, which subsequently makes numerous changes in data. By applying event sourcing you can, at any moment, derive the original state of the data. Every applied event is being stored which in turn doesn’t produce any loss of data and its origins can always be retraced.
